Pilgrimage Preacher: The Right Revd Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, Bishop of Chelmsford

“I am very much looking forward to joining this year’s St Alban’s Pilgrimage. Honoured as Britain’s very first saint, Alban’s story has profound relevance and lessons for us today; an ordinary man who opened his door to a stranger fleeing persecution; someone whose faith inspired great courage to stand up for what is right. I am grateful to Dean Jo and Bishop Alan for inviting me to preach and I look forward to meeting and spending time with people from across the Diocese.”

10.45am | Procession starting at St Peter's Church, along St Peter's St, Chequer St, High St, George St, Romeland and finishing at the West End of the Cathedral.

12noon | Pilgrimage Eucharist (with children's worship and activities)

12noon | Festival on the Orchard with all age activities, running until 4pm

2pm | Orthodox Service and Veneration of the Relic at the Shrine of St Alban

3pm | Anointing for Healing

4pm | Pilgrimage Evensong. This service ends with a procession to the shrine of St Alban, where red roses are placed on the shrine in an act of celebration
